Hosted in partnership with the UNC Charlotte William States Lee College of Engineering, this camp offers a next-step robotics experience for future engineers using the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ platform.
Robotics 201 is a hands-on STEM camp for middle schoolers (rising 6th-8th grades) designed to elevate their robotics skills. In partnership with the William States Lee College of Engineering, this camp provides an exciting and supportive environment to explore how robots are designed, built, and programmed. Campers utilize LEGO® Education SPIKE™ kits to move from imagination to invention, constructing custom robots, testing their ideas, and employing coding to control movement and behavior. The program emphasizes learning through experimentation, encouraging students to refine and troubleshoot their programs as they test their builds. Participants will spark creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, thinking like engineers by asking questions, testing ideas, and collaborating to solve challenges. The camp culminates in a showcase where students demonstrate their creations and newfound knowledge.
Campers engage in hands-on activities, designing, building, and programming robots using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ kits, followed by testing, refining, and troubleshooting their creations.
This camp is ideal for middle schoolers who enjoy building, coding, or solving challenges and are ready to advance their robotics skills.
